Specifications The Laowa Venus Optics 15mm f/4 WA Macro 1:1 for Nikon Fphotographic lens is the first wide-angle lens with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:1. This allows photographers to experiment with the underdeveloped technique of wide-angle macro photography, without the need for an extension tube. Macro lenses on the market usually have medium to long focal lengths, which limits users who wish to take very -up shots of flowers or insects to not being able to show much detail of the environment around them. The new Laowa 15mm f/4 1:1 Macro has an angle of view of an impressive 110°. Photographers can focus very by letting the foreground dominate the frame but, at the same time, have a background that tells viewers where and how the subject lives, making the image more narrative and intriguing. The Venus Optics 15mm f/4 WA Macro 1:1 lens can also serve as an excellent wide-angle lens with infinity focus for cameras with full-frame sensors. A shift mechanism has been added to the rear of the lens with a maximum adjustment of +/- 6mm which is extremely useful for architectural or landscape photography to correct distortion. The lens consists of 12 elements in 9 groups with 3 high-refraction elements and a dispersion-reducing element to reduce chromatic aberrations and ghost images and provide crystal-clear image clarity from the centre to the edges. Distortion is carefully controlled.
